SUBDIVISIONS
We specialise in large residential development subdivision schemes, where we take care of all of your project needs from start to finish, so you can get on with everything else.
We regularly undertake earthworks, roading, stormwater, water and sewer connections, concrete and drainage installation for subdivisions with up to 50 - 100 lot sections.
WATER
INFRASTRUCTURE
We have your pump station needs sorted at Nicholls & Uttinger Civil. Our team is experienced in constructing and installing pump stations, sheet piles, precast chambers, sewage treatment systems and dewatering plants.
We regularly contract to Councils, contract leads, and civil and consultant project managers to provide resilient three waters infrastructure that will last for generations.

We cover all aspects of drain laying from constructing new PE, upgrading existing drainage, connections to Council mains, water mains installations, dewatering, subdivisional drainage and large diameter pipework.

Nicholls & Uttinger Civil are well resourced with an impressive array of quality machinery. Our fleet features Hitachi Zaxis 350 LCH-5G, Hitachi Zaxis 210LC-5B, Hitachi 130 LCN-5B, Komatsu Wa 100-5 (with quick hitch), Ramax Remote Trench Compactor, bedding bins, trench shields, dewatering equipment, and Topcon GPS.

ROADING &
EARTHWORKS
For earthwork trimming or sculpting needs, Nicholls & Uttinger is the team you need. Our team knows how to handle a lot of earth, and are experienced in housing platforms and driveways, trimming road berms and subgrades, stormwater retention ponds, cut-to-fill earthworks, driveway crossings and any other general earth moving need.
Nicholls & Uttinger were recommended to us by another smaller contractor who was unable to do our job. It proved to be a fantastic result for us.
Right from the start the communication was excellent. They made life easy for us when we had to make sure we had access at certain times.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
Nicholls and Uttinger Civil Ltd were the lead contractor on the Colville Road Slip Repairs package of works which included three slip sites.
During the contract, communications were maintained (even with the poor reception on site). N&U Civil Ltd Project & Contract Managers would go out of their way to find reception to provide updates and QA testing records.
The N&U Civil Ltd project team were easy to work with and made for a successful delivery of these sites. The works were completed under budget and within the specified programme.

Directors Kurt Uttinger and Alister Nicholls are often seen with hands-on throughout project work, providing problem-solving technical expertise to complex problems and helping your project get back on track faster, to meet your project deadlines.
The Right Equipment
Nicholls and Uttinger Civil have a fleet of heavy machinery able to carry out a range of works and a team of skilled operators. Our fleet of modern excavators range from 13tn up to 35tn in weight and are equipped with GPS control systems to improve accuracy, efficiency, quality and safety onsite.
To deliver a safe and streamlined project, we operate with the following equipment:
Loaders for drainage installation and civil works.
Remote controlled trench rollers
Dewatering pumps
Trench shields
Gas detection and confined space retrieval equipment.
A suite of survey equipment including GPS rovers, lasers and levels.
For projects that require machinery or equipment we don't have in stock, we hold ongoing plant hire agreements with major plant hire companies to source and supply any equipment required to carry out the civil works
This may include tractors and trailers, road trucks, sheepsfoot and steel drummed rollers, watercarts and bulldozers as required.
